Santiago Soto Maurer

I am an undergrad student “Biodiversity and Ecology” currently writing my bachelor’s thesis under supervision of Tamara Hartke. I am currently working on an ecological niche model (ENM) of the Australian Drepanotermes genus to help answer questions about their phylogeny and the evolution of their nesting behavior, why do they build mounds? Last summer I had the opportunity of doing an internship at Portugal’s Rewilding Europe station where I did population monitoring of small mammals and birds. In the future I am interested in doing research in the overlap of modelling and population genetics and conservation.
